Please join U.S. Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D., Texas Transportation Commissioner Jeff Moseley and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as they host the Tenth Annual 26th Congressional District/TxDOT Transportation Summit on Monday, November 26, 2012.

This year's event will be held at the University of North Texas' new Apogee Stadium and will focus on transportation issues affecting North Texas. The summit will include informative presentations and panel discussions by federal, state and local officials regarding the upcoming legislative sessions in Austin and on Capitol Hill.

The federal keynote speaker is The Honorable Steven LaTourette (OH-14). Congressman LaTourette was appointed to the prestigious House Appropriations Committee in 2009. This panel provides funding for all federal government programs with the exception of mandatory spending programs like Social Security and Medicare. He serves on three subcommittees: Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (HUD); Interior, Environment and Related Agencies; and Legislative Branch. Congressman LaTourette brings extensive experience in transportation policy to the committee, having served 14 years on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in several leadership positions. He continues to focus on the maintenance and growth of our nation's infrastructure. At the start of the 112th Congress, LaTourette was named Vice-Chair of the transportation subcommittee, meaning he serves as Chair in absence of the Chairman.

Add your voice to other transportation leaders as we explore opportunities to improve public policy and consider funding strategies to address the pressing transportation needs of our region.
