Household Travel Survey Symposium
Travel Surveys: Moving from Tradition to Practical Innovation

November 8-9, 2012

Sheraton Dallas Hotel
400 N. Olive Street
Dallas, Texas 75201

Please join us for the Household Travel Survey Symposium.

It's been almost 20 years since the U.S. travel survey community gathered to share lessons learned and insights gleaned in conducting regional and statewide personal travel surveys. Mark your calendar now to attend this symposium! Topical areas will include: use of innovative technology for data collection, survey design, cost effective means of increasing survey participation, efficient and effective sampling methodology, and drafting effective RFPs based on lessons learned in prior surveys. A portion of the symposium will also focus on identifying applied research needs to move forward the state-of-the-practice and discussing how to fund that research.

The preliminary event program is available online.

This conference is presented by our supporters in innovation:

  • Texas A&M Transportation Institute
  • Southwest Region University Transportation Center (SWUTC)

Personal Travel Survey Inventory

We have developed a short web-based inventory of personal travel surveys conducted in the past few years, personal travel surveys planned for the next few years, and issues concerning both. So whether you recently completed a survey, are beginning to plan for your next one, or are grappling with related issues, we hope you'll take a few minutes to help complete this inventory. The information will be used to help structure the symposium and establish an online database of personal travel resources. A summary of key inventory items will be made available to conference participants.
