  • Date: Friday, May 5, 2017
  • Time: Session 1 at 1:00 p.m. CST or Session 2 at 2:30 p.m. CST
  • Location:
    Texas A&M University RELLIS Campus
    3100 State Highway 47
    Bryan, TX 77807

The sessions will start at 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm and will include an introduction and safety protocol overview by TTI Riverside staff, and a brief overview of the project goals, current activities and achievements by the TTI project team members. You will then have an opportunity to view the system integration into two Class 8 articulated commercial vehicles through a static display, followed by a demonstration of the of this connected and automated platooning system’s capabilities. This demo will feature a variety of scenarios specifically selected to exhibit the capability of the system to provide automated steering, acceleration, and braking control in the trailing vehicle in a two-truck platoon. Technical experts from the project team will be on-site to answer any questions. We expect each demonstration to last up to 30 minutes. Transportation options and boxed lunches will be available through the onsite event staff. Additional information will be forwarded to registrants by email.

Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation for Connected Vehicles

demonstration of the hardware-in-the-loop platform which facilitates the evaluation of connected vehicle applications and technologies
  • Date: Friday, May 5, 2017
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (informal demonstrations every 30 minutes)
  • Location:
    Texas A&M University RELLIS Campus
    3100 State Highway 47
    Bryan, TX 77807

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funded the development of a Hardware-in-the-Loop Platform to facilitate the evaluation of Connected Vehicle Applications and Technologies. In this project, the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), the Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle) and the Siemens Corporation, Corporate Technology (Siemens) have teamed together to develop a "plug and play" platform that FHWA can use to test, validate, and verify connected vehicle concepts, applications, and technologies in a laboratory testing environment that replicates actual field deployments. You will be able to see how the platform uses hardware-in-the-loop simulation system to incorporate a real vehicle in the simulation model and the display simulated vehicles inside the vehicle simultaneously.
